Waco is 2 hours South of Dallas and home of HGTV’s Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines. Is it just me or does everyone love Fixer Upper? If I can get Zach to watch it with me it has to be good. He mostly likes it because he relates to Chip on a personal level. But, really how could anyone not love the Gaines family. They are the new American Dream they’re also worth 8mil a piece but I’m not jealous. Two different spaces were created, Magnolia Table and Magnolia Market At The Silos. Both locations are fantastic and beautiful. It was what everyone pins on their Pinterest boards in real life.


We arrived at Magnolia Table at 1 pm on a Wednesday. Try arriving before 2 pm because the kitchen closes at 3 pm. We spent 1-hour waiting to be seated. Waiting isn’t bad at all because there is plenty to see and do. The waiting space has tick-tac-toe and life-size Jenga. There is also a coffee bar conveniently located on the waiting patio. If that’s not enough to do there is a takeaway store to shop around in. It’s filled with items to buy or some prepacked snacks.

I ordered a Kind Breakfast. Magnolia table website says that they use Joanna’s eggs sometimes, so I didn’t mind too much eating the eggs. Occasionally I will eat eggs from “happy hens” as long as they are well taken care of and not killed for the heck of it.

I ended up stacking my pieces of toast with the other ingredients to make an avocado toast type of deal. It was delicious, but something I could make at home. That’s how a lot of the menu is, simple but delicious. Zach ordered the simple greens and roasted chicken.

We shared an order of homemade tater tots. At first, I thought these were just potatoes but when they came out they were Texas-style tater tots. I think I might have just made that up, but if there were such thing as Texas-style tots this was it. *They have an allergen list hanging in the kitchen and our waitress was so nice she sent us a photo of it.

Our second stop was at Magnolia at the Silos, yes there are actually 2 silos there. Silos are just a few miles away from Magnolia Table. A note about parking, it is free! Don’t pay for it on the street just keep driving and following the signs. Here there were food trucks and a bakery. We were so full from lunch we didn’t check out either. But we did take a peek at was everything else. The first thing I saw when we walked in was a huge open yard, a perfect place to do a cartwheel or to take a cute picture.

In this space, there were wooden porch swings. I think those were my favorite part. I could have stayed there all day, besides the fact it was 90+ degrees. 

Much to my surprise, there were so many things to do here. We stopped by the plant barn. The outside was lined with flowers and herbs, the swiss chard was growing like wildfire. 

Our last stop here was the shop. This is where they have everything you’ve been swooning about for purchase. I thought the prices were a little steep, but it’s basically a really awesome tourist trap. Yes, I did get trapped and I bought a really cute mug, lol!

  1. I don’t think it’s just you; everybody loves Chip & Jo! 🙂 They’re adorable, and their kids are, too. It looks like you two had a great time during your trip! The food looks incredible and that’s exactly the type of meal I like (simple and like something I could make at home…only I didn’t have to make it! lol) I’ve heard they’re kind of expensive, but I think I’d get sucked into buying a souvenir, too.

  2. I love Chip and Jo, too! Seeing that avocado on your plate makes me think of the episode where they are building the restaurant and Jo wants to seel avocsdo toast but Chip thinks its gross😂
