Typically I’m not one to celebrate Valentine’s Day because I think people should show love for the people they care about year round. I’m excited for this Valentine’s Day because I found Dandies on sale. Now I have something else to use them for besides eating them plain. One time in high school I made heart shaped rice crispies to pass out for Valentine’s Day. I’ve always been overly into the holidays. I wanted to remake these because back in the day I used food coloring. I’m pretty much over that phase and now I try for the more natural coloring options. This time around I used raspberries to achieve the beautiful holiday color.
Because Valentine’s Day is all about love and mushy gushy stuff I’ll share my ideal way to spend this overzealous holiday. It wouldn’t be anything too over the top, just a nice dinner with a vegan dessert like cheesecake. I dream of this because 99% of the time I cook for myself. My heart would just flutter if there was a nice dinner ready when I got home. Or I could even get down with waking up to pancakes or waffles. I’m not a big flower person. Probably because I’ve never really gotten flowers from anyone, but I think they are almost a waste of money because they die.

Keeping the mushy theme of love going over here at myohmyitsrhy.com I took the love language quiz after writing my ideal date night, lolz it fits perfectly with my love language. *hint*hint* I took this quiz a few years ago and since then my love language has changed! I was anticipating the results to be the same, but after seeing the differences it makes sense. As I’ve grown, and my relationships have changed and evolved my love language changed too.
TIME FOR TREATS
Let jump into the kitchen and get this Valentine’s Day going. My heart pan is one of my favorite pans in my kitchen. I use it year round and it is very durable. If you want one for yourself you can find them here.
Vegan Valentine's Day Treats
- 4 cups rice cereal can be gluten free
- 1 10.5 oz bag Dandies marshmallows
- 1/8 cup coconut oil
- 1 small carton raspberries
In a small bowl mash raspberries with fork until jam-like.
In a large skillet add Dandies and coconut oil. Stir continuously on LOW heat until melted.
Once melted transfer to large bowl of rice cereal and mix together. Add mashed raspberries and continue mixing until incorporated.
Transfer treats to small baking pan and place in fridge until set.
