Have you ever eaten something so good that once it was gone you just wanted to lick the plate? Like literally pick that plate up, go into dog mode and lick it clean. That’s how I feel about this chipotle sauce. There’s a BBQ sauce that calls themselves the boss sauce, but I 112% disagree. This chipotle sauce is the one who’s really in charge around here. Not only can this sauce be used by itself, but its versatile enough to be mixed with vegan mayo to create a chipotle mayo that can be used for even more fun dishes.
Back in the day a.k.a 1 year ago. I would frequent this restaurant that served amazing breakfast burritos with an incredible sauce on the side. I’ve been trying to make it myself for quite some time. After unsuccessfully figuring it out I opted to phone a friend hoping we would be able to figure it out together ( & of course we did, wohoo!).
What makes this sauce the best is that it has the perfect amount of spicy and a little hint of smokiness. It is hands down the best chipotle sauce I’ve ever had. If I were on an episode of Best Thing I Ever Ate I wouldn’t hesitate to answer with this chipotle sauce. It’s that good. This real boss sauce can be used in a lot of different ways. My personal favorites are inside a tofu scramble burrito and on roasted chickpeas. Pretty much this sauce could go on anything and taste amazing.
The REAL Boss Sauce
- 7 oz can red chilies in adobo sauce
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 clove garlic
Add all ingredients to food processor and puree until smooth.
