Qrunch Organics Quinoa Burgers; A Review By a Burger Fiend

When summer comes around one of my favorite meals is a veggie burger. In my previous life, my favorite was a hamburger and fries. A phase that was way too long to even admit. I’ve since adapted to a plant-based way of eating. But the burger idea remains the same. There’s just something about having a nice burger on a summer day that I’ve always loved.

PICKING A BURGER

I love making a good veggie burger, but sometimes I don’t have the time or energy to make my own. Time and effort shouldn’t compromise the quality of meals. Which is why I opt for a quick healthy option of frozen veggie burgers. Convenience doesn’t always mean unhealthy. There are a lot of options in the frozen section. Use the nutrition label and ingredient list to figure out which burger is the best for you.

It’s almost embarrassing to say that grocery shopping is one of my hobbies. Looking for new products to try out gets my heart racing. The freezer section is the hardest place to find new items because it’s so cold. Being the veggie-burger-loving person I am, I sucked up the cold, threw my parka on and went on a freezer excursion. On this exact excursion, I found Qrunch Organics Quinoa Burgers at Sprouts and they stood out to me. I was intrigued because, the burgers are made out of quinoa, plant-based, gluten and soy free. If you didn’t know, quinoa is one of my favorite grains. The Quinoa burgers ingredients are all organic and listed below

Millet, water, quinoa, refined coconut oil, onion, carrots, broccoli, spinach, apple cider vinegar, sea salt, arrowroot starch, psyllium seed powder, garlic and sunflower oil.  

*Psyllium seed powder creates soluble fiber so it helps keep your gut a’going. Fiber is one of the many nutrients Americans are lacking, check out this study to learn more about fiber. 

Some other burgers add extra additives and unnecessary sugar, this burger has none of that nonsense.
