Chai is a tea with a rich blend of Indian spices. I have been hooked on chai spice anything for months. Chai lattes have been my go to this fall and winter. With warmer weather, I wanted to find a way to keep chai around. Yes, iced lattes are a thing, but I enjoy hot much more.
Dirty chai is called dirty because espresso is added to the tea. Rather than using espresso I used instant coffee. Resulting in an almost dirty chai spice oat ball.
Due to the using instant coffee, I should have known of the caffeine content in the oat balls. Although the taste was great, there was way too much coffee. I was bouncing off the walls. If you’re trying to stay up all night, simply add more instant coffee.
Oats have many different health benefits and can be used in several different ways. Oats are simple and easy to work with. Not all oats are gluten-free so make sure to read the label before purchasing. Not only are oats versatile, but they have many health benefits too. Oats are classified as a whole grain and are high in fiber. These factors have the potential to help lower cholesterol. Most of all remember that half your daily grains should be whole grains.
